Do England get to keep the trophy if they win UEFA Euro 2024? Many have been wondering ahead of Sunday’s final against Spain.
Gareth Southgate and Luis de la Fuente meet at the Olympiastadion in Berlin for a chance to make their nation European Champions – something Spain have previously achieved on three occasions, but England never.
So, will England get to keep the trophy if they win UEFA Euro 2024? Let’s take a look…
Exploring if England can keep the Henri Delaunay Cup if they win UEFA Euro 2024
The UEFA Euro 2024 trophy – named the Henri Delaunay Cup after former president of the French Football Federation (FFF) and UEFA’s first general secretary – is seemingly at the forefront of many people’s minds ahead of the clash between England and Spain.
Many have been asking if the Three Lions get to take the silverware back home on the plane if they overcome La Furia Espanola in Berlin – sadly, the answer is no, although there is a twist.

While UEFA will keep the actual trophy to themselves, as they always have, the Three Lions will be given an exact replica to take back to England and pose for photographs with on the plane, before proudly storing it at Wembley, presumably.
Special mark of recognition
England would not be allowed to keep the actual trophy in the event of beating Spain, but Southgate’s side will receive a special mark of recognition for the achievement.
As Italy have been allowed to wear ever since their 2021 victory over England at Wembley, those who win the European Championship are given a unique shirt patch to honour the victory, as you can see below.

While it – admittedly – does not look as prestigious as FIFA’s gold chest patch for winning the FIFA Club World Cup, it is still quite a cool feature for England to potentially display on their shirts for the next four years, at least.
